Monster Iguana Removal At Local Park With Rogue My Iguana Dog

Hey everyone, Trapper Mike here! Today’s video features my awesome iguana hunting dog, Rogue. We’re on a mission to help out a local park with a bit of an iguana problem.

Otto, my other dog, is taking a well-deserved break today, so it’s all Rogue. She’s been training hard and I’m excited to see her skills in action. First up, a classic green iguana basking in the sun. Rogue picks up the scent with ease and leads me right to it.

These removals require focus, and I want to make sure Rogue isn’t picking up any bad habits while working with other handlers. So far, she’s all business – a real pro. It’s amazing to see her natural hunting instincts working alongside her training.

Unfortunately, not every removal goes according to plan. We had a close call with a sneaky iguana that made it into the water. These skirted pellets I’m using lose power quickly, and slugs just don’t seem to work with my .35 caliber rifle yet.

Calling all Iguana Removal Experts!

If anyone has recommendations for effective .35 caliber slugs for iguanas, hit me up!

A real monster of an iguana makes an appearance. This guy is massive and hanging precariously over the water. We need to be careful not to spook him and send him diving in. Rogue takes her position, ready to catch him if my shot lands. One clean shot later, and Rogue springs into action with a perfect grab! Teamwork makes the dream work, folks!

PSA: Don’t Feed the Wildlife!

Later in the day, we encountered a situation that highlights a very important point – don’t feed the wildlife! It might seem kind, but it actually puts both humans and animals at risk. We ended up removing a raccoon that had clearly been fed by humans. This can lead to the animal losing its fear of people, potentially resulting in bites or the animal being euthanized by animal control.

A Rewarding Day

Overall, it was a successful day! We removed a significant number of iguanas from the park, gave Rogue some valuable field training, and thankfully avoided any golf cart mishaps.
