Hunt With Python Cowboy
Join Us For An Iguana Hunt In South Florida
Hop in the boat with our team of professional iguana hunting guides and dogs, hunting invasive iguanas on the canals of South Florida. We put decades of hunting and conservation experience to work to ethically and safely harvest these, "canal dragons." These hunts are always exciting, with a lot of shooting and a lot of fun. Every hunt makes a positive impact on our ecosystem and forges memories that will last a lifetime.

The Best Tool For The Job
Meet The First-Ever Iguana Hunting Dogs
We’re very proud to say that we have a team of professional iguana retrieval dogs to maximize our iguana hunting efforts. These reptiles are hard to retrieve and the dogs make quick work of it. Their ability to speed up our hunting has significantly improved our impact on iguana populations. They allow us to take more shots, harvest more iguanas, and have a great time on the water.
Otto
Otto is the best iguana dog in our pack by far, he absolutely loves it. He's so obsessed with iguanas that he can barely contain his excitement when we hunt! He's really proven to be the key to our success out there and has created a blueprint for our other dogs to follow.
Rogue
Rogue is our backup iguana dog. She's just as important as Otto, backing up all the guides on our iguana hunts. She's the lady of the group and is a little more on the careful side, but when she needs to step it up, she absolutely does.
Fenix
Fenix is Sammie's trusted python, iguana, and hog dog. She'll accompany us on the boats and in the glads to retrieve lizards and track pythons. She has a great personality and loves people, but she loves to hunt more than anything.
Trouble
Trouble is Fenix's sister and an upcoming hog hunting and python hunting dog. She lives up to her name, is super driven, and almost a little too gung-ho. Ali put her through the NAVDA test and Trouble scored perfect—number 1 in every category.

Where We Hunt
Welcome To The Canals
There's something wild about standing on the bow of the boat, air rifle in hand, looking through the scope at a stud lizard high up in a tree. The canals of southern Florida are hotbeds for these invasive species to thrive. This is some fun and exciting hunting that requires some accuracy—the dogs and guides take care of the rest.

Each boat can safely accommodate 4-6 hunters. If you have a larger group, we have multiple boats/guides to accommodate.
Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes, preferably non-slip. Bring protection from the sun. Lastly, if you want to bring your iguanas with you (they're great eating), be sure to bring a cooler to get em home.
We have a full packing list page for all of our hunts. If you have any specific questions leading up to your hunt, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Every Python Cowboy Iguana Hunt comes with two guides, a professionally trained iguana dog, and all the equipment needed for a successful day on the water.
No license is required for iguana hunts and there are no bag limits.
We meet at the boat ramp around 10:30 am. Depending on the hunt/season/weather we'll launch and hunt in the Palm Beach and Boca Raton areas. Leading up to the hunt, your guide will coordinate the exact meeting location and times.
Having a safe hunt is our top priority! We prioritize gun safety and boating safety on our iguana hunts. We use very powerful air rifles on these hunts (they're not toys), and we do hunt near residential areas.
We work with hunters of all skill levels to ensure a safe and exciting hunting experience.
We strive to harvest iguanas and other invasive species humanely and ethically.
To commemorate your hunt, we make custom leather goods, right here in Florida. We also have connections with several local taxidermists to get mounts of heads, skins, and more.
Yes! And they're delicious—similar to frog legs or a chewier chicken. Our guides will have plenty of suggestions on recipes.
We do not process the iguanas, but our guides will give you a few hands-on tutorials to teach you how to properly clean them. We'll have them on the cooler for you during your hunt. Be sure to bring your own cooler to transport them home.
We do not allow guests to bring dogs on our hunts.
You can, but they must be an air-powered .25 or .30 caliber. We use only the highest quality Edgun Air Rifles, scopes, and equipment. Everything is sighted and dialed in leading up to your hunt.
