My Story Starts On A Sailboat
I've Always Had A Sense Of Adventure
Born and raised in Florida, I wasn't much different than other Florida boys—running around outside, catching things, and living life. As a kid, I spent a lot of time on a sailboat with my family, traveling back and forth to South America. We would catch, cut, and cook our own dinners. We had a run-in with pirates. One time the boat was struck by lightning. I didn't realize it then, but this is where my sense of adventure was born. When settled down back in South Florida, that's when I got into reptiles, and it's been an obsession ever since.
Growing Up In Florida
My Love For Reptiles Started As A Kid
I've always loved reptiles, having a few as pets growing up. After volunteering with FWC, helping with nuisance gator removals, I knew this was something I wanted to do professionally. After working with the state for five years, I decided to resign because we couldn’t use our dogs.
Now, if y’all know us, you know we couldn’t do any of this without Moose, Otto, or the rest of our hunting dog team. We're working every day to change the python hunting game by finding more nests and finding underground snakes.
That's when we started Martin County Trapping & Removals. From there I started honing my craft, doing free removals for homeowners to get access to hunt and trap.
Protecting Our Environment
Building The Best Invasive Management Team
It's been a dream to get to where we are today, helping on the level that we're able to help, and to show the state departments how bad the invasive problem really is. We're diligently working to continue to reduce populations of invasive species and to help the state adapt to better ways of hunting these animals.
We pride ourselves on ethical harvesting of animals and ensuring that every invasive species we harvest gets used for feed, hides, leather, and more. Absolutely nothing goes to waste.
From training the first python-hunting dogs to educating our youth on responsible pet ownership, we work every day to help Florida's future.
